| Nov 15 ’08 | Texas Recycles Day – fifth annual collection of materials to divert from the landfill, partnering with Carrollton Evening Lions Club, all Carrollton high school volunteers and recycling vendors. 175 volunteers diverted 109 1/2 TONS of recyclables in the cold wind! |

| April 4 ’09 | Don't Mess With Texas Trash-Off / Great American Cleanup 2009 – sixth annual participation in national cleanup event encompassing all community cleanup, spruce up efforts between March 1st and May 31st. Join us in your school or neighborhood and create your own projects. We’re happy to help you. Keep America Beautiful's Great American Cleanup, the nation's largest community improvement program, takes place annually from March 1 through May 31, involving an estimated 3 million volunteers and attendees. The hardworking volunteers donated more than 6.7 million hours in 2008 to clean, beautify and improve more than 17,000 communities during more than 30,000 events in all 50 states and beyond. Last year, 2309 Keep Carrollton Beautiful volunteers spent 8,743 hours collecting 6,700 pounds of litter and debris from green belts, streets, parks, rivers and shorelines in Carrollton. We also had fun educating 2,000 participants. |
