Don’t Mess with Texas Trash Off April 23, 2016 9:00-12:00

Don’t mess with Texas evolved from an extensive public education program conducted by the Texas Highway Commission. For thirty years, Don’t mess with Texas has encouraged Texans to keep trash off our roads.

Keep Carrollton Beautiful is participating by holding an event on Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the parking lot at Newman Smith High School (2335 N. Josey Lane).  We will provide “pickers” and trash bags for you or your group to collect trash in an area of your choice.

In addition, we will be collecting recyclable items to keep trash out of the landfills.

The items we are set to collect:

Yarn – collecting for the Senior Center members who knit hats and mittens for nearby hospitals

Light Bulbs  – don’t let these go to landfill

Electronics – all electronics and batteries will be collected and recycled – TVs smaller than 21 inches, only.

Would your group like to collect something that our citizens have…….let us know and we will set up a table for you to collect…

PAPER SHRED-A-THON – 9:00am to 12:00 noon
